Jeffrey Schroeder

Jeffrey Schroeder is a Senior Geologist in the Operating department at Phoenix Energy, bringing 17 years of experience in operations, development, and business development geology across multiple U.S. resource plays. He holds a Master of Science in Geology from Central Washington University and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the College of William and Mary. Jeffrey began his career at Encana as an operations and development geologist across several Rockies basins before spending 12 years at Bonanza Creek Energy—which through acquisitions and mergers became Civitas Resources—where his role expanded to include development geology, business development, and operations across the DJ and Permian Basins. A defining achievement in his career was serving as the primary geologist on the business development team that closed the multi-company merger that formed Civitas Resources.

Jeffrey brings extensive experience in reservoir characterization and asset development on small, fast-paced teams, with a deep understanding of the key drivers behind well performance and economics. At Phoenix Energy, he is excited to work with new people, learn a new basin, and grow into a technical leadership role in the exploration and development of U.S. resource plays—bringing an unbiased, humble, and collaborative spirit to help unlock the full potential of the company’s assets.

Originally from McLean, Virginia, Jeffrey and his wife are the proud parents of three young children, ages 2, 4, and 7. Outside of work, he is an accomplished endurance athlete who has completed three Ironman Triathlons. When he’s not training, he enjoys mountain biking, hiking, camping, and skiing.
